Week one done!

So week one of our FRESHERFEST 09 is done and out the way, and what a fantastic week it was.

Monday saw RAGfest take over the concourse and provide us with plenty of wonderful entertainment both in the marquee and from societies performing outside, all the while raising money and awareness for some great charities.

Tuesday brought with it the Post Grad and Monte bunfights, both of which allowed us to get loadsa sign ups for the mailing list. Then in the evening we had a smashing first gig at the Bent Brief (pictures now up) with Andrew 'Bumble' Stafford, Ciaran McManus and Rosie McCloskey giving us 3 fantastic acoustic sets.

On Wednesday we had the main bunfight in the daytime, with record numbers signing up (just under 600 by Al's count).  Evening time saw us take over 90 Degrees with a barnstorming set from Kent based soul funksters Linear Loveboxx, getting just under 200 in the door.

Thursday we took a well earned break, but on Friday we came raring back with our first social of the year, a 'plain white T's' pub crawl through Portswood, ending up at the Hobbit.  We had about 20 new faces pop along to join us, which was brilliant, and I hope you all made a load of new friends!

Finally today, we have had some people over at the Winchester bunfight while Al ran a tech training session in the Cube.  Both of these went well, aside from Phi'ls war wounds sustained after a battle with a mic stand!

Dont forget tomorrow we have a jam session during the day (1-3) at the Boiler House, the halls bar for Monte/Wessex Lane.  Then in the evening we have a smashing gig lined up for you at the Hobbit, featuring The New Decibels, Used Inc and Fighting Fiction.  First band on at 7, all finished by 10.30, its gunna be a good one, so make sure you get yourselves there!
